What SAT Score Do You Need for Canadian Universities?

Do you need SAT Reasoning Test for admission to a Canadian University? For most students, the answer is no. If you are one of those students who has taken the US curriculum, then you will need to provide scores from the SAT Reasoning Test as part of your admission requirements. If you have studied any other curricula, then you do not need to provide these scores. Even if you have written the exam, these scores will not be used to evaluate your admission application.

SAT Requirement as per Curricula

If you have written SAT, what do you do with the score when applying to a Canadian university or college? You can send it in and there may be the odd occasion when it is used, especially if you are weak in Math. This would be more at the college level.

And sometimes it can be used for scholarships or other offers. For example, if you have written SAT, then do include the scores with your AIF (Application Information Form) for the University of Waterloo.

So, there you have it. If you are only applying to Canadian universities and colleges, you do not need to write the SAT Reasoning Exam. Spend all your energies and study time on your school subjects, get high marks in those and that is all that is required for Canadian admissions. Depending on the curricula, you may have to write IELTS, but not SAT.
